This episode features Anthony DePalma. He worked for 22 years as a reporter and foreign correspondent for The New York Times. In 2001 he published Here: A Biography of the New American Continent and 2006 The Man Who Invented Fidel. DePalma contributed to “Portraits of Grief” which won a Pulitzer for The Times in 2001, and among other awards he was a 2007 Emmy finalist for the documentary “Toxic Legacy.” He currently severs as a writer-in-residence at Seton Hall and released a book earlier this year titled The Cubans: Ordinary Lives in Extraordinary Times.
